From Bubbio, to Bosco della Luja (Luja Wood), to Bric del Moro (Moro Hill)
Short ring route in the green of the woods and the hills, riding on the edge between Bormida Valley next to Monastero Bormida and the wine hills.
For this itinerary we start from the beautiful old town of Bubbio, nice village perched above the river, and we climb up towards the octagonal church of San Grato, an unmissable highlight both for the panoramic viewpoint on the valley and for its unique architecture.
The route crosses the so-called Bosco della Luja (Luja Wood), an uncontaminated area of woodlands and vineyards (here is produced the Loazzolo Passito from the Moscato vineyards, the smallest DOC area in Italy). The landscape is characterized by rich fauna, a Mediterranean type of flora (thyme, broom, liliaceae) and the blossoming of splendid wild orchids.
Visit the small historical centre of Loazzolo, a typical valley village, then continue downhill crossing the Bormida river, climb up to the opposite side to Bric del Moro, a panoramic viewpoint over the hills, and reach Bubbio again.
