92. Internationale Weisstrüffelmesse von Alba

Einst hieß Marketing schlicht Geschäftssinn und war die Fähigkeit erleuchteter Personen, die Zeichen einer sich ständig weiterentwickelnden Gesellschaft zu lesen und zu interpretieren.
Zu ihnen zählte Giacomo Morra, Jahrgang 1889, der Alba zur Hauptstadt der Trüffel machte. Mager, schütteres Haar, kleine Augen hinter einer leichten, runden Brille: Man konnte ihn sich gut mit Ärmelschonern hinter einem Bankschalter vorstellen. Das ist aber nicht seine Geschichte: Ihm war es bestimmt, der „König der Trüffel“ zu werden. Ein Leben wie ein Film: In eine bescheidene und vielköpfige Familie hineingeboren wurde er Wirt und Hotelier und erahnte als erster die wirklichen Möglichkeiten dieser stark duftenden Knolle, die nachts von den Trüffelsuchern der Langa, den Trifulau, gefunden wurden. 1929 hatte er die großartige Idee, eine der Trüffel gewidmete Sektion mit den Feierlichkeiten anlässlich der abgeschlossenen Weinlese zu kombinieren. Es wurde sofort ein Erfolg und im folgenden Jahr war es an den Savoyern, die erste Messe zu eröffnen. Sie war nicht erfolgreich und so nutzte Morra seine große Begabung als Wirtschaftsstratege und schickte die besten Trüffel an die Prominenten der Zeit und lud sie nach Alba ein: Churchill, Eisenhower und Chruschtschow waren während des Kalten Krieges da, aber Morra stand nur auf Seiten der Trüffel. Er lud Hitchcock ein, huldigte Rita Hayworth und im Herbst 1961 sah man eine strahlende Marilyn Monroe durch die Straßen von Alba spazieren.
An der Internationalen Trüffelmesse Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba teilzunehmen heißt, die Weitsicht dieses großen Unternehmers zu ehren, dieses Genies, das dafür sorgte, dass die Scheinwerfer des gastronomischen Universums sich im Herbst auf Alba richten. Die mit der Zeit gewachsene Veranstaltung belebt ein ganzes Gebiet mit dem großartigen Mercato Mondiale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba, auf dem man herrliche und ausgewählte Exemplare kaufen kann. Hinzu kommen die zahlreichen Rahmenveranstaltungen zu Wein und Gastronomie, die Alba Truffle Show (der Bereich der Cooking Shows mit den großen Köchen, die Analisi Sensoriali del Tartufo und die Wine Tasting Experience), die Partnerschaften mit herausragenden Gebieten für Wein und Gastronomie und die „Matrimoni del gusto (Hochzeiten des Geschmacks)“ zwischen den Hügeln des Langhe Monferrato Roero. Ebenfalls zum Programm gehören Gäste, Begegnungen und Debatten, Kunstaustellungen und Musikveranstaltungen, Alba Truffle Bimbi, der Pavillon, der den Kindern und ihren Familien gewidmet ist, und die berühmte Versteigerung Asta Mondiale del Tartufo, die sich aus dem Schloss von Grinzane Cavour an die Trüffelliebhaber der berühmtesten Metropolen des Planeten wendet.

Unusual Dinners are unique occasions in which products of excellence known all over the world and the best chefs on the national and international scene meet the Alba White Truffle in one of the most popular food and wine districts in the world. Here is the program:
- on Sunday, the 9th of October at the Sala Beppe Fenoglio;
- on Friday, the 21st of October at the Perno Castle;
- on Friday, the 28th of October at the G. Busca Social Theater;
- on Tuesday, the 1st of November at the G. Busca Social Theater;
- on Friday, the 4th of November at the G. Busca Social Theater.
Mercato Mondiale del tartufo
The International Alba White Truffle Fair is one of the main showcases of high gastronomy. The core of the Fair is the Alba White Truffle World Market, an ideal place to appreciate and buy truffles from the Langhe Monferrato Roero area. Inside you can buy the Truffle.
The opening is from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm (last entrance at 7 pm) every Saturday and Sunday. Extraordinary opening: on Monday, the 31st of October, on Tuesday, the 1st of November.
The cost of the ticket: full € 5, € 4 for groups over 30 people, free for children up to 15 years, people with disabilities and carers.
Baccanale dei borghi
Two days of re-enactments lived as a protagonist, accompanied and followed by the "borghi" (district) of the city, protagonists of the history of Alba.
Through the activities, you will be able to see what life could have been like in the Middle Ages. During the Baccanale dei Borghi, the participants will welcome you in the historic center with music, dances, food and wine.
The event will take place on the following days: on Saturday from 6 pm to 12 am and Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm.
Festival della Bandiera
The sky above Piazza Risorgimento will be filled with a thousand colors, between the overwhelming rhythm of the drums and the fascinating and complex performances of the flag-wavers.
The Festival della Bandiera (Flag Festival) tests all the skills of the participants. The event will be held on Sunday, the 23rd of October at 3.30 pm.
Cooking Show
Every weekend of the Fair at 11 am and 6 pm, at the Sala Beppe Fenoglio, inside the Cortile della Maddalena, the cooking shows allow you to discover the secrets of great chefs of national and international cuisine who will make you taste their dishes, combined with the most precious and rare asset of our territory: the White Truffle of Alba.
The pleasure of savoring a great dish, created by a great chef and designed to perfectly match the White Truffle of Alba, to let you enter the autumnal atmosphere of the Langhe Monferrato Roero hills, paired with a great wine: a winning combination dear to this land and tied to tradition.
The cost is € 40.
Corsi di cucina
Inside the Roddi Castle, in one of the most beautiful Italian cooking schools, through courses, you will be taught the traditional recipes of Langhe, Monferrato and Roero and the great dishes of important chefs in a very special location.
The courses will take place on Mondays at 10 am. The cost is € 90 for 1 person or € 150 for 2 people.
Asta del tartufo 2022
The World Truffle Auction is an event that over time has been able to reconcile the promotion of local excellence with solidarity, allocating large funds to charitable causes. In connection with the Castle of Grinzane Cavour - headquarters of the Cavour Piedmontese Regional Wine Center-, on November, the 13th of Hong Kong, Singapore and Vienna will compete for the White Truffle of Alba.
